So if your major is more common, say business management, you'll be less likely to be accepted versus majoring in say a soft science, say anthropology or some other soft science -ology? Sorry about all the questions, I just don't know that anyone who goes to CSULB and I stubbled upon your Tumblr through something else, saw you the little "CSULB" and thought I'd take the chance..

Stumbled upon it how? The majors I would be worrying about are:

kines, art, nursing, criminal justice, film & electronics, definitely nursing, psych, social work

and a couple others I forgot. They’re pretty much always full and the hardest to get into. ie: nursing takes 90 students a semester, with over 1k students applying. 70 of those students aren’t even from CSULB. They’re called “impacted” majors, where more applicants try to get into the program than CSULB can physically teach. The majors themselves are subject to more strict criteria to get into. If you’re a freshman you won’t have to worry about this. You basically get into CSULB first as a “pre-business” major, where they give you a bunch of classes to “prepare” for your major. You do this for 2-3 years and your admission into the business program is based off of how well you do in your pre-major classes.
